Aloha Waikiki, Hawaii.

We have had a few days on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. We are staying at the Coconut Waikiki  Hotel in Waikiki and it is great. It is a 3-star hotel with breakfast included. They have a gym, laundry facilities, a swimming pool and it is about 10 min walk to the beach. It is very sweet and the people working here are so friendly.

These days have been so relaxing, we decided early on that the first couple of days on Oahu would just be relaxing, swimming and playing on the beach.

We all love being back at the beach, Henry has got a body board and Stephen and he is out trying to catch the perfect wave. Stephen and I will have surfing lessons next week when we are in Kauai so we are testing the water with the body board. I honestly don’t think we will be very successful but we will have to try! It would be great if we could get lessons all around these islands. Henry just loves it.

Yesterday we had a surprise planned for Henry- we went on a “real” pirate ship. A trolley bus came and picked us up and took us to the marina where the ship was anchored. On board the ship was four pirates that were very much in character. We sailed around the sea, had a pirate school for all the children, had a treasure hunt where in the end we found a treasure chest floating in the sea. All the children and the pirates helped each other to get it up on the ship and inside was gold and silver that they shared. In the end, all the children took turns having a swordfight with one of the pirates.

In the end the captain told them they could join his crew. They all shouted aaaarrrrrr.

It was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend it. It was 1,5-hour long but really well planned. Henrys eyes were huge the whole time and he joined in 100%.

Happy wife = happy life. We celebrated out 5 year anniversary out here, not a bad place to be :)

Tomorrow we have hired a car for the day and are going around the island to find new beaches, some snorkelling and some waterfalls.
