Good bye Mexico, good bye Phoenix and hello Sedona.

And hello 44 degrees! Wow it is hot! When we landed in Phoenix it was about 39 degrees and later it peaked at 44. I love the heat but 44 degrees was a bit much luckily it is a dry heat so it doesn’t seem too bad.

We had a rough start when we left for the airport in Cancun. It was 5.30 in the morning and we got checked out and the car packed up. Stephen started the car and both of us said “oh that doesn’t sound good.” When we started driving out of the garage we needed to do a 10-point turn and when we tried to put it in reverse the car started shaking. We turned the engine off and the car alarm started up and all lights started to flash. We turned it on again and it stopped. As we drove to the airport it shook really badly like it was running out of gas and we keep saying please don’t stop. We made it all the way to the airport but I think it was a close call.

It was a 4,5-hour flight and it was pretty straight forward. Henry slept and watched the Lego Batman movie. I started 4 different films and finished one 😊

We always use Avis for our car hire. And this time we got upgraded to a huuuuge car! I’m not joking it is so big!  On the way to the hotel we stopped at an outlet centre for a bit of shopping. It is very cheap here if you compare to home. But as our suitcases are full already we can’t buy too much. We buy things we need and throw away as we go. Henry got a few new t-shirts that needed exchanging, Stephen also got t-shirts and a cap and I got a pair of shorts.

When we arrived at our hotel, the Hilton at Squaw Peak we headed straight for the pool. They had a few different pools and we ended up playing volleyball in the pool which is hard when Henry wanted to serve. It was great fun. Henry as I said before just loves water.

Yesterday was a slower day, Henry woke up at 4.45 so I got up then with him and then went back to bed when Stephen came up at 7. We then went for breakfast at 9.30 and had a rest in the room until after lunch when we went to the pool again to have a play.

Today we drove to Sedona and we have been to the Out of Africa park. It is a wild life park that has tigers, lions, giraffes, zebras, black panthers, rhinos, snakes etc. basically all the cool animals!

We got there just in time for a bus tour around one of the areas where you could feed the giraffes. It was so much fun, the giraffe put his head right into the bus and ate the leaves we had for him.

They have 12 tigers and they were huge and beautiful. The funniest thing that happened was when we watched four tigers in their area through the fence and they came right up to us. Then one of them turned around and weed all over Stephen and Henry! Hahaha so funny! Although Stephen did not find it that funny! Henry was very impressed with all the animals and when I asked later in the car which animal he liked best he said: giraffe, then tigers oh and the snakes oh and the bears. He loved it all.

We have got a room here for two nights and tomorrow we are going to an Indian reservation.

It was a great experience to feed a giraffe. He was so friendly and intelligent.
