What can I say about Grand Canyon that has not already been said? It is beautiful, stunning and amazing.
We drove there late because we went fishing on the way. The tour guide told us a great place for it. So, on the way to Grand Canyon we stopped at a Trout-farm north of Sedona and Henry and Stephen had a morning of fishing. They caught 3 fish and I nearly fainted 3 times, especially when Henry had fish blood on him.
Henry helped Stephen with the rod and when they caught one Henry then went to get the net. He then stood back whilst Stephen removed the hook and bonked it on the head.
We handed them in and to have them cleaned and gutted and then we cooked them on the BBQ for lunch.
It was a great morning and Henry loved it, he can’t wait to go again!
After that we then drove to Grand Canyon, took one of the shuttle buses along the rim and had a walk. It was amazing, the sun was setting and it was just so beautiful. We had dinner at the Canyon and then drove to our hotel.
Today we have been driving from Monument Valley where we stayed for one night to Moab. We got some inside tips on where to drive, rather than the motorway all the way here we went via the Valley of the Gods. It took us way longer but the views were stunning. We stopped halfway for a picnic and an explore. Henry walked around collecting sticks and jumping from rocks. Then on we went to Moab, we are here for two nights and I am doing a horse riding tour tomorrow, while I’m doing that Henry is doing a pony ride.
This trip has become so much more than I was expecting. I was expecting a holiday, some sunshine and a few road trips.
It has twisted into these amazing unexpected adventures that we will never again experience. It is truly a once in a lifetime adventure.
Henry is still very excited every day when we tell him what the plans are for that day. The joy on his face is unforgettable.
