Today has been a very special day. We went on a helicopter ride over the island.
It was mine and Henrys first helicopter ride and we were so excited!
Stephen has been in lots as he would go offshore when he worked and he would then go in a helicopter. But not as small as this one.
First, we checked out from our hotel and we then had agreed to listen to a presentation about time-share, as they offered us $150 off the helicopter trip if we did. They nearly had us, but it wasn’t the right time. Then we drove down the coast and stopped at a lighthouse that had lots of birds around the cliffs. We then went on a small helicopter that took six people plus the captain, Henry went on Stephens lap.
After 10 minutes Henry was fast asleep!
The landscape was amazing, very dramatic. You had green, green, green, waterfalls, canyons, cliffs and then the amazing beaches.
One side of the island is very green and inside the volcano crater is one of the wettest places on earth. Then you cross a ridge and you are on the dry side of the island with the largest canyon in the Pacific. The captain took us inside the crater and then over the ridge.
I know I have said it before but I LOVE HAWAII! It is beautiful.
