Queenstown is so pretty. It is a lovely town full of life and people. It has the mountains around it with snow still on the top and sunshine down in the centre. We went rafting with the Family Adventures today. It was the first adventure thing Henry could join in on because they took children as small as 3 year olds.
They put us on a bus and drove us to the canyon where the raft waited. It was a narrow road that snaked around the mountains. That went on for about an hour. We made a pit stop and they kitted us out with wetsuits, socks, booties, fleeces, gloves, helmets and life vests. It was really good because they had everything in Henry’s size as well.
Then off we went. They put us in the raft and went over some safety rules. It was us, a Korean family of four and the guide. It was so much fun. After about 5 minutes we hit a rapid so we had water coming over us into the raft, Henry then firmly decided that he didn’t like it. After another 10 minutes we stopped and did some jumping off some rocks and got back into the raft. Even me who doesn’t like these sorts of things jumped as well. The water was freezing cold! Henry thought that was pretty fun and he decided that he did like it again.
We had another 20 minutes of rafting and then we came to a stop.
It was really fun and I think we will do it again.
