Surfing lessons at Hanalei Bay, Hawaii.

We are now on Kauai Island and today was so much fun!

Both Stephen and I had had surfing lessons. Stephen had his at 9 am this morning and I had mine this afternoon. It was raining a bit this morning so Henry didn’t want to stay at the beach so me and him drove home. Stephen said when we picked him up that it hadn’t rained at all where they were having their lessons but it poured at the hotel.

It was Stephen and one more guy in his lesson and I had two other girls so it was small groups. I had difficulties getting up the right way on the board but I was fine with a bit of practice. Stephen said that he managed straight away and just kept going and going. He really enjoyed himself and they said he was a natural.

I also enjoyed myself but didn’t get the same comments about being a natural 😉

We flew from Oahu yesterday morning to Kauai which took about 20 minutes. At the airport we got a rental car again which makes things easier. We then drove to the north of the island where there are some caves and beautiful beaches.

Kauai is a greener island and very dramatic! It has got big mountains all around and then the bluest water you can imagine.

We stopped at a random beach and the sand was half black and half white.

Stephen and Henry played on the body board and after about two hours we went to find our hotel. It is a lovely place in Princeville where we have a condo. We are here until tomorrow when we move to Wailua, on the east coast. The next week is going to be quite exciting as we have got a few things planned.

Stephen was a natural and got up straight away.

Henry saw me come in with the board and he came running towards it. He then saw the photographer and started smiling and posing.

Stephen did have one big wipeout when he nearly surfed into the guy who was in his group.

It looks worse than it was. The board didn't actually hit him.
